Thornleigh Life Communities is part of Thornleigh Camphill Communities Ltd and has two sites, The Hatch and Orchard Leigh, in Thornbury and Eastington. We provide supported living services, day opportunities and housing for adults with learning disabilities and autism in a Camphill context.
This is an exciting time to get involved with the Life Communities Board as we review our long-term strategy and plan our development. The Life Communities Board reports to the Charity Trustees and is delegated to carry out responsibilities for the communities. As a board member for the Life Communities, you will work alongside the CEO, management team and representative beneficiaries to set the strategic direction, providing us with insight and expertise.
For Board Members, we are particularly interested in candidates with a background in areas such as finance, including commissioning with local authorities, HR and the social care sector, but this is not essential. We are really interested in hearing from individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of our residents, bringing a variety of skills experience and backgrounds.
This is a voluntary role with reasonable expenses paid. The Board meets four times a year, usually Monday – Friday during office hours, in addition to ad-hoc requirements.
