Celebrating Ascension Day at Dyrham Park

This Ascension Day, we had the pleasure of visiting the breath-taking grounds of Dyrham Park, which is home to idyllic ponds, beautiful gardens, and a wonderful wildflower orchard.

Ascension Day marks the ascent of Jesus Christ into heaven on the 40th day after his resurrection. It is a significant day celebrated in many ways all over the world, from processions symbolising the entry of Christ into heaven, to the burning of effigy’s, symbolic of the Messiah opening the kingdom of heaven to all believers and his triumph over the devil.
We celebrated Ascension Day with a trip to Dyrham Park which sits on a beautiful hill overlooking the city of Bath. We spent the day exploring the grounds, taking in the beautiful sights, and thanking our lucky stars for the wonderful weather that blessed us that day. We enjoyed the delicious lunch and cake provided by the cookery and bakery workshops and finished our day with some refreshing ice cream to cool us down in the spring heat.

Our Ascension Day outings hold great significance for both our residents and team. We spent the day appreciating the beautiful surroundings, reminiscing about our memorable visit last Ascension Day to Raglan Castle, and looking forward to planning our next exciting trip for Ascension Day next year.
